A pouring wet day in Threlkeld so we visited the mining museum. Incredible display of mining and geology put together by a dedicated volunteer team. Really interesting! And some great specimens. Fun trip on the steam train up to the quarry site, lots of old mining and quarrying machines to look at.

Welcome to Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum The Museum is open! We are open 7 days a week during the school holidays and will be shut on Mondays during term time (except on Bank Holidays). The Museum is open from 10 am - 5 pm with last admission at 4 pm. We are running diesel trains on the days we are open at 11.15, 12.45, 2.15 and 3.30.
